This research paper presents a new parallel algorithm for computing the formal concepts in a formal context. The proposed shared memory parallel algorithm Parallel-Task-In-Close3 parallelizes Andrews's In-Close3 serial algorithm. The paper presents the key parallelization strategy used and presents experimental results of the parallelization using the OpenMP framewor

Mobile office and its implications for ERP systems : a review of literature

The surprisinggrowth of mobile technology has seen many benefits. During the recent decades businesses also try to benefit from this; one of them is mobile office / enterprise. When organizations become mobile-enabled, their ERP systems also face some implications which have to be carefully dealt with. The implementation of mobile-office forces organizations to reengineer some or all of its business processes, etc. If all opportunities offered by technologyare carefully acquired, organizations should be prospering for sur

SeizeIT: SEIZURE victims are no longer leashed

Seizure considered to be one of the severe and most common type of neurological disorders. Despite the availability of numerous anti-seizure drugs, it is often difficult to control the disease completely and effectively. Lack of close supervision and failure in providing urgent medical care during and after seizure episodes, leads to serious injuries or even death. On the other hand, Use of wireless sensor networks in everyday applications have rapidly increased due to decreased technology costs and improved product reliability. Therefore developing a wearable device to monitor seizure may complete the anamnesis, help medical staff in diagnosing and acute treatment while preventing seizure related accidents. There are number of seizure detection systems available in the market. Still their performance is far from perfect. This paper explores an application of biomedical wireless sensor networks, which attempts to monitor patients in a completely non-invasive and non-intrusive manner. It describes a wearable device together with seizure prediction and alerting system, which is designed to address some issues with seizure detection systems in the market. Its functional block diagram and operating modes are detailed. Possible application areas of the device are also discusse

Possibilities for the use of mobile phones and more-than-voice services to improve the economic status of women-headed households at the BOP

    Get PDF
The paper looks at women’s use of mobile phones and more-than-voice services, and how this can be leveraged to improve the economic status of female-headed households in the emerging Asian base of pyramid (BOP) economies. Women’s success at microfinance could be leveraged via appropriate mobile phone services to improve their economic situation. Initial results suggest that female-headed households are in fact economically worse-off, and that their phone use pattern for economic related services is less conducive for success than male-headed households. Male household heads use their mobiles to build wider and or stronger networks than their women counterparts

ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK BASED INTELLIGENT TEA TASTER-REVIEW

. Tea is the most favorable beverage in the world after the pure water. Professional tea tasters categorize the quality of the tea in subjective manner by assessing the several parameters. The flavor, aroma and color of tea are the most important and considered parameters when professional tea tasters categorize and evaluate tea. The value of abovementioned parameters depends on the chemical composition of the tea. Basically, flavanols are major compounds which affect the quality of the tea. Therefore, it is possible to identify a correlation between flavanols composition of tea and professional tea taster’s valuation. The main purpose of this article is identifying above correlation and according to that correlation design and implements “Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based Intelligent Tea Taster” to automate manual tea tasting process. This review is focused on training an artificial neural network according to identified correlation between flavanols composition and tea taster’s valuation and based on that trained artificial neural network After going through successful training iterations and evaluations, a computer-based solution can be designed and implemented to define the quality of tea according to its flavanols compound. The results show good correlation of estimated values of theaflavins and thearubigins with the actual concentrations obtained by the system when we tested at laboratory. The review is based on ANN base Intelligent Tea Taster will automate the tea tasting process while improving efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of the tea tasting process

More-than-voice services at the BOP : awareness, usage and elevation of socio-economic status

    No full text
This paper attempts to understand the relationships between awareness, usage and impact of use of more than voice services at the bottom of the pyramid by using data from the large sample Teleuse at BOP4 survey conducted by LIRNEasia in mid-2010. While the paper succeeds in identifying and explaining some of these relationships the findings are complex and not very clear in linking the benefits of use of such services; which is very seldom, to awareness and use indicating the need for further research
